Straight answers about Commission Tracker — the commission tracking software built for insurance agencies. If your question isn’t here, book a live demo and ask us directly.
What is Commission Tracker?
Commission Tracker is commission tracking software built specifically for insurance agencies. It imports carrier commission statements, calculates agent splits and overrides, and produces the reports an agency needs to pay agents accurately, reconcile carrier payments, and catch missed commissions.
How much does Commission Tracker cost?
Plans are flat monthly rates per agency — not per user seat: Independent Agent $67/month (1 license), Small Agency $72/month (5+ agents, includes the agent portal), Medium Agency $119/month (2 licenses, 20+ agents), and Large Agency $166/month (3 licenses, 40+ agents). Every plan has a one-time $120 setup fee. Full details on our pricing page.
Is there a contract?
No. All software plans are month-to-month with no contract. You can cancel anytime.
What if we don’t want to enter statements ourselves?
Use our Commission Processing Service, starting at $187/month including 4 hours of expert processing. Our team reconciles your carrier statements in Commission Tracker and delivers finished agent commission statements — you review and pay your agents.
What carrier statement formats can it import?
Commission Tracker imports carrier commission statements in Excel, CSV, and PDF formats. We maintain processing for hundreds of carrier statement layouts — including Aetna, Aflac, Colonial Life, Humana, MetLife, Mutual of Omaha, The Hartford, and many more — and we add new carrier formats as our customers need them.
Does it handle agent splits, overrides, and downlines?
Yes. Split percentages per agent and policy, multi-level overrides and downline hierarchies, and house accounts are core features — not add-ons. That’s the difference between commission software and a CRM with a commissions checkbox.
Does Commission Tracker store our client and policy information?
Yes. Commission Tracker is built around your agency’s book of business: client records with notes, every policy with its carrier, premium, commission rates, and agent splits, and the imported carrier commission statements behind every payment. Client, policy, and commission history stay together in one searchable place — that’s the foundation reconciliation runs on.
Do our agents get their own portal?
Yes. Small Agency plans and above include the online agent portal, where each agent can log in from any browser and see their own commission reports — no more emailing spreadsheets.
Does Commission Tracker work on Mac?
Yes. Commission Tracker Cloud runs in the cloud and is accessed over a secure remote desktop connection, so it works from Windows and Mac alike. The agent portal works in any modern browser.
How is Commission Tracker different from AgencyBloc or an AMS/CRM?
AMS and CRM suites treat commissions as one module among many, usually priced per user. Commission Tracker is a dedicated commission engine at a flat monthly rate — you don’t buy (or learn) a CRM to get your commissions right. See our full Commission Tracker vs AgencyBloc comparison.
What do customers say?
As of July 2026, Commission Tracker is rated 4.8/5 on Capterra, holds a 100% would-recommend score on Software Advice, and ranks #1 in GetApp’s insurance commission-management category.
Can you import our existing agents and policies?
Yes. Existing agent, client, and policy data can be imported from spreadsheets during your setup, so you don’t start from a blank system.
How do we get started?
Book a live demo — you’ll see the software on a screen share with your questions answered by the people who build it. Setup is a one-time $120 configuration, not a months-long implementation project.
